Why We Built This Site
Huerfano County has a practical records split. The Clerk of Court at the Huerfano County Judicial Center handles state court case files, divorce records, probate records, criminal court records, civil filings, traffic matters, and related court payments. The County Clerk & Recorder at 401 Main Street, Suite 204 handles recorded documents, marriage licenses, elections, and county recording services. Sheriff records, jail questions, and some criminal justice records use a separate law-enforcement route.
Colorado access rules add another layer. Court records follow Judicial Branch access rules and local clerk processes. County administrative records may be requested under the Colorado Open Records Act, C.R.S. 24-72-201 et seq. Criminal justice agency records may be evaluated under the Colorado Criminal Justice Records Act, C.R.S. 24-72-301 et seq. Keeping those channels separate reduces wrong-office requests.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to Huerfano County, the Colorado Judicial Branch, the Clerk of Court, the County Clerk & Recorder, the Sheriff's Office, Walsenburg Municipal Court, or any state or federal agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:
- We cannot file paperwork or send records requests on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any court document, marriage record, recorded document, or vital record
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific Colorado case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, address, staff listing, or office hour is current right now
Only the issuing Colorado court or Huerfano County office can provide a certified copy with an official seal.
Search Partners
Some pages on this site include search boxes powered by third-party providers. Those companies set their own pricing and run their own services. When you use one of those tools and it leads to a paid signup, we may earn a referral fee. That revenue helps keep this site free for visitors. We do not control what those tools charge or what appears in their results.
